The story follows Maddie (a venomous snake), Zoe (a hairy spider), Frank (a thorny devil lizard), and Nigel (a very dramatic scorpion) as they escape a reptile house to return to the Outback. Along the way, they’re chased by a lovable-but-annoying koala named Pretty Boy (voiced perfectly by Tim Minchin).
I went in expecting a cute kids’ movie and came out with a new appreciation for Australia’s “creepy” critters. The animation is gorgeous—think Mad Max: Fury Road meets Finding Nemo but make it reptiles. Back to the Outback
