June 6, 2004. D-Day + 60 years. Toccoa, Georgia.

The log ended.

The search returned the usual suspects: a torrent of the series, a few text files of episode scripts, a faded podcast interview with a historian. But tucked between the dross and the mainstream was an anomaly. A file labeled simply: E_Company_Private.log .

Leo didn’t add the file to the official collection. He didn’t tag it or catalog it. He left it exactly where it was, in the quiet, dusty corner of the digital stacks. They weren't being rude. They were somewhere else. In a foxhole in the Bois Jacques. On a frozen ridgeline with the sound of tree bursts cracking like doom. But the core of the log wasn't the heroes. It was the others. The gaps.

In the corner, two men sat apart from the laughter. One was Frank. The other was a man whose name Leo didn't know. They were staring at the floor. Toccoa, Georgia
