Abstract CivilCAD is a specialized software suite that operates as an extension (add-on) within Autodesk AutoCAD. This paper examines CivilCAD for AutoCAD 2023, detailing its core modules, technical integration, practical applications in civil engineering, and comparative advantages over other solutions like AutoCAD Civil 3D. The analysis confirms that CivilCAD remains a powerful, cost-effective tool for Latin American and other markets, optimizing tasks such as terrain modeling, road design, hydraulic systems, and topography. 1. Introduction AutoCAD is the global standard for computer-aided design (CAD). However, generic AutoCAD lacks specific tools for civil engineering calculations and automated drafting. CivilCAD, developed by the Brazilian company Datageo (later versions by Engcorp and others), fills this gap. For AutoCAD 2023, CivilCAD provides a comprehensive set of functions that transform the generic CAD platform into a dedicated civil engineering design workstation.
