Rohan wanted to scream, but his throat closed. The movie resumed on the left—but now a counter appeared on the right, over his own terrified face. A timer. 00:01:47. And counting down.

But on his nightstand, a single sheet of paper had appeared—the kind from an old dot-matrix printer. It read:
Rohan threw the phone into the fish tank. Bubbles. The screen flickered underwater, still playing. Still counting.
The screen flickered.
The screen split into two. On the left, the movie continued—Kael running through a rain-slicked city. On the right, a live feed from Rohan’s own webcam. He watched himself, pale and frozen, sitting in his boxers, mouth half open.
Then the credits rolled—silently, across every screen in the apartment: the microwave display, the smart fridge, even his watch. White text on black.
He ran to the door. The handle was warm. And below it, freshly printed: It was 2:47

The lights came back on at 3:00 AM. The fish tank was empty. The phone was gone. So was the laptop.
“You shouldn’t have downloaded this,” the character said. His voice was flat. Digital. A timer
Then the webcam footage rewound. He saw himself sit down at 2:30 AM. Plug in his external drive. Type the search. Click the magnet link.
