The REPACK wasn’t a mistake. Someone had embedded something.

“You’re Maya,” Zara said, in perfect English, no dubbing. “And you’re the one who finds the original episode. The one before the REPACK.”

Maya froze the frame.

Maya hesitated over the mouse. REPACK always meant trouble—a bad sync, missing frames, a corrupted audio track. But the show’s logline had hooked her: “In a city rebuilt by AI, the last human archivist discovers the past was erased for a reason.”

The file finished at 3:17 AM. She pressed play.
