Patience Series 1 - Episode 6 -

“You served in Fallujah, 2006. Medic. You pulled seventeen wounded out of an ambush. You didn’t sleep for three days. Your hands never stopped moving.”

(softly, into phone) “Marcus. My name is Patience. I’m not here to talk you down. I’m here to sit with you.”

As the crowd disperses, Patience’s phone buzzes. A text from an unknown number: “The Silent Hour is over. Time to talk about the Recruiters. Tonight. 9pm. The old clock tower.”

“I give you my word. You will walk out. You will get help. And you will never have to be silent again.” Patience Series 1 - Episode 6

She slides a small notebook across the table—her personal journal. He opens it. Inside are handwritten notes: coping mechanisms, breathing exercises, a list of VA crisis lines, and a single sentence: “You are not your worst day.”

“Terrified. But fear and courage are roommates. You know that.”

“You’re not dead, Marcus. You’re just stuck in the silent hour. The one between the nightmare and the morning. I live there too.” “You served in Fallujah, 2006

“No. It was you. And then you came home. And the silence started. Not the quiet of peace. The silence of a world that doesn’t understand what you heard.”

Patience sits alone in her car. She pulls down the visor mirror. Beneath a photo of a younger woman with a badge (her former partner, deceased), she writes a new note: “Day 1,486 of staying.” She starts the engine.

Thorne’s hand trembles. He slowly pushes the rifle away. It clatters to the floor. You didn’t sleep for three days

TITLE CARD: Patience will return in Episode 7: “The Recruiters.” Thematic Core: Silence as both a weapon and a sanctuary. The episode explores PTSD, moral injury, and the idea that sometimes the most powerful negotiation tactic is simply bearing witness without judgment.

Patience slowly opens her eyes. She picks up the receiver.

“Okay.” Act Five: The Aftermath Scene 6: Exterior, Library – Dusk Thorne is led out in handcuffs but without force. He glances back at Patience, who nods once. He is taken to an ambulance, then to a hospital, not a jail.

“They left. Said I was already dead. Maybe I am.”

“Give me two minutes.” Act Four: The Negotiation of Souls Scene 5: Interior, Library – The Table Patience enters. She sits directly across from Thorne, the rifle pointed at her chest. The hostages are huddled in a corner. She places her hands flat on the table.
