Pokémon Legends: Arceus is the most fun I’ve had with a Pokémon game in over a decade—for the first 20 hours. It finally delivers on the childhood fantasy of sneaking through tall grass and hurling a ball at a wild monster. But the technical performance is a genuine shame. The empty zones and frame drops constantly remind you this is a brilliant concept built on underpowered hardware and a rushed schedule. If you can accept its rough edges, you’ll find the most innovative Pokémon game since Gold/Silver. If not, wait for a potential sequel on stronger hardware. Play it
