Robert Fludd (1574–1637) was an English physician, astrologer, and prominent Rosicrucian apologist. His magnum opus, Utriusque Cosmi Historia (The Metaphysical, Physical, and Technical History of the Two Worlds, the Greater and the Lesser), published in five volumes between 1617 and 1624, is one of the most encyclopedic and visually stunning works of Renaissance esotericism. The “two worlds” refer to the macrocosm (the universe, the “Greater World”) and the microcosm (man, the “Lesser World”), reflecting the Hermetic and Neoplatonic principle of “as above, so below.” | | e-rara

Robert Fludd’s Utriusque Cosmi Historia is an essential primary source for the study of Renaissance esotericism, Hermeticism, and the history of cosmology. While no single consolidated PDF of the entire work is standard, complete digital copies of all individual volumes are freely accessible via the Internet Archive, Google Books, and European national libraries. The best entry point is the Internet Archive using the search phrase "Utriusque Cosmi" Fludd .
